The EFT Clinic was founded and developed by Dr. Debi Gilmore and Dr. Christine Holding. Originally, Drs. Gilmore and Holding were assigned a 9-month doctoral internship as a part of their DMFT program. They were expected to demonstrate the ability to run a small business, develop and implement a solid and stable business plan, and manage employees in the mental health industry. Within 6 months, the clinic was bulging at its seems and they found a steady lineup of therapists wanting to work and train there. A lease was signed at their first location in Millcreek, Utah, and at the successful completion of their doctoral internship, the two founders proceeded to hire more therapists to expand their services.
Within 5 years, the need for their offerings for clients as well as the training of professionals was increasing. Their passion for the mental health field and the education and mentoring of professionals was rewarded for 5 consecutive years with the honor of Best of Marriage and Family Therapy by the Salt Lake Business Hall of Fame.
The EFT Clinic is home to a group of independently licensed, deeply passionate therapists of multiple disciplines including LMFT, LCSW, and CMHC. They use the research-based model of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples, individuals and families residing in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho. The EFT Clinic is unique to therapy clinics because all clinicians receive ongoing specialized training in healing attachment injuries, working with trauma, and building safe relationships using the EFT road map.
